This wonderful insect took up residence under my chicken coops a few years ago in South Carolina. I was absolutely amazed. Feathers, dropped feed, all waste was digested immediately. When a feather, for example, dropped from the cage, the ground would start moving around it and it would totally disappear. There was absolutely no odor. I talked to the local agriculture department about spreading the word, but they weren't interested. This is an amazing way to recycle. I'm glad it's getting some press.
