I have noticed tiny mites (or what looks like it) that have invaded the BSF pods. There are so many that they form a white blanket over parts of the feed. I would like to know if anyone has encountered these and if they are a problem for the larvae?

Location - Tanzania.

... my BSFL in my bin. It was a healthy looking colony of all different sizes and in a matter of days all went dead. There are billions of tiny white mites that are moving around inside of the bin. You can see them in the attached Picture, it's those white dots on the right side of the camera light ...
