Post Maturin, Monagas State, Venezuela
An email submission from Erzsebet

I have seen the BSF in Maturin, Venezuela, Monagas State. Maturin has a 50 meters above sea

I have seen the fly and also I have started a project to breed the BSF, so I am also going to need a lot of input to raise more information about. I will try to get a camera close by so I can take pictures.

So far I am breeding about 20 BSF larvae and prepupas. I am learning to be calmed and learn to WAIT for something to happen. The one I saw had a brown belly, it was big.

I live in Maturin, Monagas State, Venezuela. 50 meters above sea level, below are my coordinates.

Erzsebet you're on the map (link). We're also interested in any future seasonal data you can provide. The flies are most active in warm weather but we would like to get more definite data on their active season. Dates of first sighting in the spring and last in the fall would be ideal and can be posted here.
