latitude -23° 20'
longitude -45° 95'

I´m just learning how to start my own colony, and this one was the first adult. I´m sure this one was not feed in proper way, but I´ll learn how to make them healthier and bigger.

There are some scientific papers that show us H. illucens in other regions of Brazil:

Thanks agropisa. I believe the coordinates should be latitude -23.20° longitude -45.95° as minute values max at 60. We'll add it to the map once Jerry has a chance to review it.

Coordinates can be in three formats: decimal degrees, degrees-minutes, and degrees-minutes-seconds. This free online tool (link) will give them in decimal degrees which the map requires.

Jerry or BW, I need your help!

I won't get rest until I´m sure about which specie I´m working with. I´m sure that is from Stratiomyidae family, but not sure if it is an Hermetia illucens one.

Does anyone have a key to classify individuals of Hermetia genus? It isn´t a problem for me to use magnifying glass or to revive some entomological concepts which I learn someday during my college.

Thanks in advance!

agropisa, as far as I can tell from that photo you have Hermetia Illucens. It looks exactly like the BSF I work with. If you can find the larvae that match that fly it would provide further confirmation but I have little doubt at this point.

Dears,

Please I´d like to re-new my map information.
I moved from my old place to:
-23.21708
-45.92072

This is exactly where you can found me!

It is inside this greenhouse where I´m doing my researches with BSF

thanks
