Hey all
I am new here and just got some bsfl and I was wondering if using old potato carrot and general vege scraps would be a suitable food for them. I don;t want to use manure or anything like that I want too keep the setup clean. I am using them for my insects so protein is more important than calcium.

Hello and welcome to our forum :) If you'd like you can introduce yourself here (link).

Vege scraps should be good except that BSFL will not eat most peels. If you're not planning to do anything with the frass (the castings from the larvae) then this shouldn't be a problem.

What foods do BSF really like to eat, a list (link)
