Post Re: The fly has bitten
Hi All
this is the year where I had larvae earlier than other years... from indoors..
I failed to keep them alive..very slack
now at least in my outside bin I have all size larvae
I have set up +- 10 traps around the yard and from this I have started this population
I use a half banana in small flower pot ...the fly will lay their eggs in the food and as and when I see small larvae in the pot I will add them into my bigger setup...grow them out
in a week I find +-90% of these pots have small larvae...works for me using the natural population...
A wish all the members a Merry Christmas and to all may the new year bring happiness.
regards

It might be BSFL. What size? There are photo guides to help you: Photo reference guide for identifying Black Soldier Flies (link) and These Are Not The Larvae You Are Looking For (link).

Don't look like BSFL to me. Looks kind of caterpillary... Not house fly.
