I don't have plans available now, but if you want any questions answered I'll do my best.

Jerry posted this update in January 2016 about his Bio-composter(link)

"... I've basically closed the shop. One reason is that the latch bin I've used is no longer in production, and my dimensions and templates are specifically designed for that box. Besides that, it's never been a profitable venture, and my regular work is keeping me very busy."

He will post a notice in the forum if the situation changes but for now his Bio-composter is no longer available.

Hey, just random.
Love your design and its modifications.
I've had good success with coconut coir.
Which for me is a pretty raw, pick off the ground after the guys done drinking milk and the backhoe run over it a few times.
Strip off the outer shell.
It's slow, but has stood a pretty good time test.
An imperfect between grubs in fertilizer out.
Heck, filters do need replacing, whatever you do.

Thanks for the update. Your site is incredibly helpful. I love the contributors' passion and attention to detail.

I am making this a backyard project with my young grandchildren, so I want a small set-up with a clear view of what's going on. Small. (Watch this turn into egg production, a tilapia pond, plus an insect-taco restaurant.)

eveheart I believe most of the bins now being sold are solid (not transparent) and expensive. Jerry would be delighted if you used his design and built your own bin from a cheap storage bin purchased locally. You could also look at the designs in the Small Scale Indoor Breeding topic (link) section or the D-I-Y BSF Bioconversion Units (link) section.

Lastly forgive my bad manners for not welcoming you to our forum :) If you'd like you can introduce yourself here (link).
