Hello from the Oregon Coast
We have a small farm on the Alsea River about 16 road miles in from the town of Waldport. I'm a retired Systems Engineer that "bought the farm" about a year ago. No, this is not a voice from the other side, just someone who has been declared "nuts" by his friends. My main interest is in building synergistic relationships between the various farm elements. I'm interested in BSF as one element of the system. (Sorry if I keep lapsing into "system speak").
We have Shetland sheep and ducks. We practice pasture rotation for the sheep and put the ducks into the pasture most recently vacated by the sheep. My hope is to break the parasite cycle with the ducks. Both ducks and sheep will be contributing to the BSF element.
I'm setting up an aquaponics system along the lines of Brian's post http://blacksoldierflyblog.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=167
. (Hope I added the link correctly).
I have a bunch of questions related to the design of the system. I think I'll post them on the Sustainability forum, unless there is a more appropriate area.
