Post hi from on the european territories.
Dear members,

Hello.

(btw I never claim to 'live in' any 'Country', that's equal to claiming to being the lowest-ranking employee of a corporation = a citizen, a ward. So don't ask me and I'll return the favour by not committing myself to being a zombie or insane.)

And perhaps because of a dislike for the crap the patriarchy ('rule by priests', of entertainment, education, etc... they all work together you know..) give out, the idea to do a BSF breeding private research on a shelf with window-light with a screened-in space indoors seemed natural. Front room, morning light.

The goal is to provide a stable temperature environment, adequate light, within a zippered enclosure that has three breeding baskets, and a dried-out houseplant (with leaves) providing the environment for mating. There is soil in the baskets, piled-up more around the edges.

Give me tips if you have them on anything you like with regards to raising them,
and as soon as I get a memory card for the camera, I'll return the favour with photos.

cons:
It doesn't smell - too much. Only started with about 1000 worms and need to have them go through a breeding cycle. In the interim I've been a little too eager with food.

Raw eggs: good for them? (I think they are although I want to hear your ideas)

Some fruit flies: mostly stay inside the screened area, although they could fly out they don't seem to.
And again, probably too much food and not enough BSF yet is the cause of the fruit flies.

The discussion about mooochooo's indoor BSF set up has been moved and can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=90
